Cottrills helps Lenovo Group Limited wish ‘Happy Birthday’ to their staff and thank them for their contribution to the success of the business.
The Company:

Formed by Lenovo Group’s acquisition of the former IBM Personal Computing Division, the company develops, manufactures and markets reliable high-quality, secure, and easy-to-use technology products and services worldwide. Lenovo has major research centres in Yamato, Japan, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, China: and Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Background:
Lenovo wanted a unique way to say thank you to its entire UK business by offering a choice of awards to their employees on their birthday, while incurring minimal administration.
They wanted a paperless on-line solution which could be branded to reflect their corporate identity and a provider who could offer good quality awards, smooth delivery and after sales support.
Cottrills’ Role:
Cottrills suggested a range of quality branded gifts from its Aspirations™ range. The advantage of giving a tangible award was the fact that Lenovo’s employees would be reminded on a daily basis that the gift they received was from their employer, helping Lenovo create the ‘feel good factor’ they where hoping to establish by introducing the scheme.
Cottrills in-house design team created a branded website featuring a selection of gifts within an agreed price range, taking care to tailor the products to respect demographics of Lenovo’s employees. On entering the site the recipient views a personalised welcome page thanking them for their continued support and inviting them to order a gift on-line. The site is reviewed every six months to ensure gifts illustrated are up to date.
All recipients details, including date of birth, were then uploaded onto Cottrills system, allocating each recipient with a ‘unique’ user name and password which automates an e-shot direct to employees on a monthly basis.
The Service Cottrills Provide:
Lenovo was designated its own Account Manager & Administrator who co-ordinated the scheme and was the primary interface between Lenovo’s award recipients and HR department.
Each employee is e-mailed on the 1st day of the month prior to their birthday thanking them for their contribution and asking them to log onto Lenovo’s branded website using their unique user name and password to order their gift on-line.
All orders were then processed by Lenovos’ Account Manager, selected and wrapped by our warehouse and delivered within 10 working days. All the awards have a minimum 1 year warranty; with any after sales issues being dealt with by a representative from Cottrills customer service team.
