Cytec
Cottrills assists Cytec to improve and update its’ reward & recognition scheme.
Cytec Industries is a specialty chemicals and materials technology company based in Bradford. Its’ growth strategies are based on developing technologically advanced customer solutions for global markets, including aerospace, coatings, mining, plastics and water treatment.
Background:
After conducting a global employee engagement survey requesting employees to give feedback, it became apparent that Cytec’s reward & recognition strategy needed an overhaul. A majority of staff had commented that they felt their loyal service awards were a little old-fashioned and that they did not always feel that they were recognised for going that ‘extra mile’ or for providing a consistent quality service.
Solution:
Bespoke Website Site
Recipient Personalisation
Online Ordering
On-the spot Rewards
Fulfilment & After Sales
Points Banking
Cytec use our ‘Aspirations’ on-line mechanism with the site branded to reflect their corporate identity and personalised for each recipient on entry.
The site features thousands of branded gifts and experiences, all with a points value and each discounted from high street prices.
Points are awarded for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 & 35 years loyal service, as part of an incentive scheme and for on-the-spot recognition. The latter rewards are awarded to recipients by individual line managers using a Cytec recognition voucher book, which have pre-determined points values.
Recipients then pass vouchers over to their HR department for redemption. Loyal service award data is received once a quarter via email from Cytec and is then uploaded onto their website prior to the anniversary date.
Incentive and on-the-spot data, however, is received by Cottrills as redeemed, with details and points values uploaded onto the site within 2 days of receipt; an encrypted file system is used to ensure all recipient data is protected.
On the recipient’s date of qualification, a congratulatory email is sent to them stating the URL for Aspirations on-line, together with a user name and unique password. Once logged-on their points allocation is displayed on screen along with a personalised message of congratulations.
As awards are chosen they are added to an electronic basket and the on-screen points value reduced. If recipients require extra points they can buy them online via a secure payment page supplied by WorldPay. Alternatively, recipients not wanting to redeem points immediately can store them and accumulate their points bank.
Employees who do not have access to the internet are supplied with an ‘Aspirations’ brochure, order form and freepost envelope – an option unique to Cottrills. All gift choices are dispatched within fifteen working days to the recipient’s home address, with any after-sales issues being dealt with by Cottrills’ customer services department directly with the recipient.
